For this season, I will get personal, and focus on sharing my early accessibility journey
I will talk about how I discovered web accessibility, how I attempted to understand more about disabled users, and how I formed my approach to incorporating accessibility in my practice.

Welcome to Web Access Club, a podcast about accessibility for web creators. I'm Prae, a New Zealand based UX engineer who is learning to make accessible web products.
At the time of this release in 2022, I've been a UX focus web developer, AKA a front-end developer, for almost a decade. But I've only started seriously thinking about accessibility in the last couple of years.
This biweekly seasonal podcast, will be my personal exploration into what it means to create an accessible web experience for the most diverse audience possible. I will talk about it mainly from a UX engineering perspective, but I will also cover other aspects of development life cycle, like research, design testing, and change management.
Basically, if you are involved in creating a web product, this podcast is for you.
Now about this season, I have a confession to make.
At first I was going to make this season a 1 0 1 introduction to web accessibility, covering things like the users, tools and methodologies. But as I worked on the scripts, I realized that the biggest barrier to making accessible experiences is actually a combination of lack of exposure and fear of the unknown.
Most web creators, haven't been taught about accessibility or have worked closely with people with disabilities before. So for people who are new to web accessibility, this is such a big world and they don't even know how to start approaching it.
So a week before launch, I decided to scrap months of work and start again.
For this season, I'll get personal and focus on sharing my early journey on how I discovered web accessibility, how I attempt to understand more about disabled users and how I formed my approach to including accessibility in my practice.
